Our 1st Birthday!

It's hard to imagine that it has been a full year since the girls were born. Amazingly enough, we are all happy, healthy, alive, and somewhat sane. This year has been filled with all sorts of 'firsts' and plenty of joy. Both of the girls are walking. Jill finally mustered up the courage and is walking across the room. We have been working on waving hi, blowing kisses, and dancing. Kate will occasionally dance. Of course, it is the 'squat' dance. Jill just learned to blow kisses today. I must say that Jill's kisses are more like licks. She has been watching Bailey too much and loves to lick your cheek. So her kiss blowing consists of her licking her palm and holding it out. They are both growing like weeds. They amaze us every day! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful kids.

Kate loves, loves, loves balloons. She wouldn't put her balloon down to open the gifts. She held on tight to make sure that Jill didn't snatch it from her hands. Jason and I have been waiting for the balloon to pop, but no such luck. She still has been carrying it around today. Jill loves toys that make noise. She likes to inspect every inch and is very proud of herself when she figures out how to play with it. They weren't real sure about what to think of the cake. They have never eaten anything sweeter than peaches or watermelon, so having a cake smothered with cool whip was a treat. At first they just patted the cake. Then Jill stuck her finger in her mouth and she was SOLD. Kate definitely has mommy's sweet tooth and demolished her cake. Here are some pictures from their 1st Birthday!

Happy 4th of July!

We spent our 4th of July playing. We figured that the girls still might be a little young for fireworks. PLUS, the fireworks were at 9:30 pm and the girls bedtime is 8:00 pm. We know what happens when the gals get off schedule and fussy and it's not fun. Maybe next year we will enjoy the fireworks!

Here are some pictures from the day and the hairbows that I have been making the girls. Mamma's getting creative. Watch out Martha Stewart!

Black Bob Park

Last weekend Jason and I took the girls to Black Bob Park to swing. It was their first time on a swing. Kate LOVED it, while Jill was a little apprehensive at first. Once Jill realized that it was fun she smiled.

Teething update: Kate has 7 and Jill has 5.
