Playtime in the snow

Katelyn plotting revenge with her snowball.

Jillian is adorable and terribly sneaky. She mesmerizes you with her blue eyes and bright smile. Then WHAMMO! She gets you with a snowball.

You poor, poor dogs

Thank goodness our dogs are patient. I am pretty sure Bailey thinks that Katelyn and Jillian are HIS puppies. He has no problems with them dressing him up. Just think ~ Puppy Prince. He also has no problems being treated for ailments with the doctor kit. As long as he can sneak in a lick afterwards, anything is game.

Winter

So this winter has been pretty brutal so far. Besides the snow and ice, the whole family has had their share of sinus infections, ear infections, and the upper respiratory funk. It hasn't been pretty. Just when the kids get well, Jason and I get sick. I am pretty sure the Pediatrician's office staff knows me by name and sight at this point. Especially since we have been there 4 times in the past 2 weeks. I am ready for the sun. I cannot wait for spring. Cannot. Wait.

One of the perks of winter - plenty of static!

Oye, 20 minutes of dressing layers upon layers, mittens, and hats. Is it really worth all the trouble to go outside and run a few errands? I am still wondering.

Winter Benefit - Snow Ice Cream! Yum yum!

Plenty of time indoors = plenty of art/craft time. Thank goodness for washable finger paint. It's pure genius! As usual, Jill just DIVES in and makes the biggest mess possible. It took Katelyn a little while longer to figure out that she was supposed to use her fingers. She wasn't so sure that I wasn't going to have a conniption fit over the mess. She kept saying, "Fingers messy momma."

A little imaginary carpet picnic. A little salt here, a little syrup there, and this car tastes delicious!

Jillian thinks this car snack is wonderful!

Hiatus

On hiatus. Not for long. Just until I can figure out what the he*l is wrong with my camera and why my iMac won't download my photos. We are troubleshooting and I should be back and running within the week. **Fingers crossed**

In the meantime, we have had more snow. I have become more adventurous in letting the girls out to play, roll, eat, and stomp in the snow. On the downside, we have spent many days indoors. More than I can count.

Jillian has really blossomed. She used to be chatty Cathy then zipped it up for awhile. Well, she is back in full force. It all started one morning when I got her out of her crib. She said, "DOWN ABAJO!" Thank you Dora for your spanish. Now she likes to narrate the day, but NOTHING like Kate. She seems to have diarrhea of the mouth. My mom said I was a talker, and I can only imagine that this is my payback. It's terribly cute for the first 20 minutes of the day. But then you have another 11 hours and 40 minutes to fill with, "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy." Both of the girls have HUGE imaginations. They can entertain themselves with faux trips to grammy's house, dress the dogs up, and pretending to be mommy. Oh yes, I said that correctly. They like to pretend to be mommy. Kate has the serious look and my hand movements down perfectly. She even yells at the dogs to "HUSH!" I don't know wether to be ashamed or amused. It's all perspective.

We have had our bouts with illness this winter also. The kids have had a couple of sinus infections. So far they are on the mend. And I had an allergic reaction to some antibiotics which landed me in the ER for the day with IV's, anti-nausea meds, and pain killers. Fun times.

The girls are growing like weeds. Their 3T jeans fit them perfectly now. I no longer have to roll them up. In fact, they are looking a little snug lately. Random people comment on my lovely 3 year olds and I have to correct them - "They are 2 1/2". That is usually followed with a "Good Lord, they sure are tall for their age." Yes. I have no idea where they got it from. Certainly not me. Jason's grandmother Dovie is over 6 ft. Perhaps that is where they got it from. Either way, I love it.

Well, back to troubleshooting what the issue is with downloading pictures. I would love to scrap it and get the Nikon D5000, which I have been coveting from afar. Ok, more like drooling over. One of these days, my pretty you will be mine. :)
