Grandpa Boots and Grammy come to visit!

This past Memorial Day weekend, Jason's mother "Grammy" and her husband Al "Boots" came to visit us in Kansas. They kept the girls overnight giving Jason and I a well deserved night out for our 5th wedding anniversary. We booked a hotel in downtown KC and handed over diapers, baby food, bottles, and babies. We celebrated our 5th anniversary with a wonderful sushi dinner and martini's. It was great to get dressed up and not have baby food on my outfit! It was very nice of Sherry and Al to take on the gals for the evening! Here are some pics from the weekend.

Nice nose pick Jill!

Mommy (ME) and Jill

Miss Jill looking lovely as usual!

Kate and her blankie!

Grammy rounding up the troops!

Daddy and Jill just relaxing.

She will chew on anything, even the dog kennels.

Boot's playing with a mirror and Jill. She kept laughing at the baby!

Kate starts laughing at the baby in the mirror also.

Standing here all by my BIG GIRL SELF!

Miss Kate shows off her new found standing abilities.

Playtime, playtime, playtime!

Kate learns to clap!
She is so proud of herself

Jill likes to show her new tooth and the 2nd one that is just budding up.

For some reason, Jill would not put down the Dr. Smiths Diaper Ointment. She crawled with it, played with it, chewed on it....it became her best friend. She kept close tabs on it for a few days.

Yep, another brawl. Jill stole the water bottle from Kate.

Kate coming in for the steal while Jill slaps Kate's hand away.

Uh-oh, a full on tug-of-war!

The new "Baby Kennel". They play fine in it as long as I am not anywhere near them. As soon as they see me, or hear me, they scream and wail as if the world has come to an end.

New Carseats

It's time to retire the infant car seats. Both of the girls have gotten too tall and too heavy for them. It's a struggle to carry the car seats these days. So, we bit the bullet and ordered 2 new car seats. They arrived just the other day.

Kate likes the new ride!

Mom, she's touching me!

Stop touching me Kate!

Ok, a soothed Jill likes the new ride also!

Yep, they are chew-worthy...a good sign!

Teeth Count 1 - 6

Well, do you hear that?? That is the fat lady singing!

JILL GOT HER FIRST TOOTH!

The tooth count is now 1 for Jill and 6 for Kate. Here are some pics of their pearly whites!

Bunnies, Bunnies everywhere

I thought we had a problem with wild rabbits when we lived in Virginia. They would occasionally sneak into our yard only to have the dickens scared out of them when they were wildly chased by our dogs. Poor rabbits! Well, here we are in the Midwest and our neighborhood has lots of wild rabbits. When Jason and I were touring the house with our realtor we walked in the backyard where we glimpsed a wild bunny making a mad dash out of the yard. Now that spring is here, they are everywhere! The funny thing is that people don't really seem to scare them. Last week I saw 2 rabbits in our front yard. Several people walked by and one rode by on a bike and the bunnies stayed put. These bunnies have nerves of steel apparently so I whipped out my camera and caught a few pics.

Jill's new talent

Somehow, someway the dogs have trained Jill to open their kennels. I recently caught her in the act of releasing Murphy from his kennel.

Yeah, it's that latch there, just slide it open kid...

Freedom, FREEDOM!

Over here kid, help me get out toooo!

NO, not the toy, the latch, the latch!

Murphy swoops in for a victory lick!
