Playtime

We spent some time yesterday roaming around upstairs and exploring.  Here are some pics.

Jill giving mommy mean eyes

Good thing she always follows up the stink eye with a giggle and a smile.

It's all fun and games until someone starts playing in the toilet.

Bye bye bottles?

I have been trying to wean the girls off the bottle.  They only have one bottle a day of milk (no formula) right before bed.  Well, last night their 2 bottles were dirty so I thought, "Why not try to wean them off the bottle tonight?"  Just an FYI, I have packed away ALL of their bottles except for 2.  We needed the shelf space to unpack kitchen stuff that has been in storage since we lived in Virginia.  Nothing like procrastinating.  Anyway, back to the story.  I gave them both a sippy cup of milk around 6:30 pm.  At 7 pm, I put them to bed and told them 'night-night' which is code word for "lay down and go to bed, mamma needs a break".  They both began fussing.  After 15 minutes, the fussing became full on screaming and crying.  I scrambled upstairs a few times to calm them down.  After 45 minutes, I finally washed the 2 bottles and gave in.  I brought them downstairs screaming and hollering.  They both were so out of control screaming that even Jason heard them from down in his man cave (his basement office).  He came upstairs and helped me calm them down and prepare their bottles.  We both laughed over my genius plan to stop the evening bottle.  Silly me!  One of these days we will be bottle free.  I just don't know when.

Poor Miss Jill after screaming for the past hour

Even Miss Kate has a blotchy face from screaming and crying.

Bow Crazy!

Lately, I have been going bow crazy and making all sorts of bows for the girls.  Here is just a sampling of what I have made lately.  Apparently, I have some extra time on my hands.

Dare Devil

My mom used to tell me stories about how I would climb everything.  She said that she found me sitting on the kitchen table one day, but there were no chairs around.  Apparently, I was a climber and a dare devil.  Did I mention that I broke both of my arms when I was 5 years old?  I thought I could fly.  Well, it looks as though both of my girls are climbers.  God help us.....

Ummm, that stroller is for baby dolls, not baby Kate....

Note to Self

Note to Self:  You are watching too much tv when your child picks up the remote, points it to the tv and tries to change the channel.  Funny thing is that she shakes the remote as if it has bad batteries and shaking it will help.  Ohhhhh children are sooooo observant.

Momma's new bling!

It didn't take long for the girl's to see my rhinestone heart and proceed to pick off as many stones as possible.  I got tired of "no-no" and decided to replace the heart with ribbon.  People may think I am crazy, but if you had to wear a cast for for 8 weeks and were stuck in the house with twin toddlers, I would like to see what you would do........  :)

All dressed up and nowhere to go.....

Yep, we are still housebound and will be until my next foot x-ray at the end of September.  Why not get dressed up and play?  What else can we do?

Long Johns

Fall is on it's way!  It has been getting quite chilly in the evenings - 40's  to 50's - this past week.  I had to dig deep in the girls clothes to find a long john outfit that fit them.  Both of the girls weren't sure about the feet.  They have been wearing night shorts since they began walking.  Kate tested out the footsie's with a race across the living room.  Jill preferred to lay on her back and play with her feet.  Here are some pictures from the evening!

Inspecting each other's outfits.

What in the world is this on my feet?

Does this print make my butt look big?

Labor Day

Today we took the gals to the park.  Neither of them wanted anything to do with the swings, so we headed over to the play gym.  Here are the pictures from today.

Kate was afraid to walk in the grass.  I think it was tickling her legs.
