Today Jason and I took the girls to our neighborhood park. Kate really wanted to walk everywhere and Jill was content to just "hang out". We had a great time and look forward to going many, many times in the future.

Deanna Rose Park
Last Friday I decided to take the girls to the Deanna Children's Farmstead. It is a wonderful place for children. They have everything from wagon rides, pony rides, a fishing pond, and you can also feed the various animals. I am sure we will spend MANY days out there once the girls get a little older. Here are some pictures from our day out.

Funka-licious 'Doo
I kid you not, this is what Jill woke up looking like this morning. I was downstairs on the computer when I heard Jason hysterically laughing. I heard him call me over the baby monitor to come upstairs. I grabbed my camera and this is what we saw.....
I think she had a very restless night tossing and turning from teething pain. Poor little thing....
What a week!
Ok, so Kate is OFFICIALLY WALKING! This past weekend she would take a few steps and fall. This morning she walked halfway across the living room. I was shocked and grabbed the video camera. I got it all on film and will post the video clips soon. I loaded all of the appropriate software and cannot figure out how to download it. This is where my computer genius husband is very handy. Well, he is sleeping, but as soon as he wakes up, I will ask for help. He is used to this.
Jill is TEETHING LIKE CRAZY! She has 2 bottom teeth and is getting all of her top ones at the same time. Nice... This has led to a few sleepless naps, plenty of crying, and lots of chewing. The poor thing bit her tongue so bad today that the tip of it is bruised and purple. She will learn soon that teeth can be painful. She is standing and trying to gain more balance which in turn leads to lots of face plants lately. Please don't be alarmed if you see a scratch or two on her. She has had a rough week!
I am transitioning from baby food to 'people' food this week. So far, it has gone well. I have learned~ albeit after making a huge pot of baby spaghetti and freezing it ~ that my gals don't like spaghetti sauce. Are you kidding me?! Jason and I both thought that maybe they just didn't like my homemade baby food. BUT I tried feeding them some Gerber Graduates spaghetti and they hated that also. My feelings are in tact and I am no longer offended by their refusal of homemade baby food. :) They LOVE peas, carrots, corn, watermelon, waffles, cheerios, just about anything bite sized. They have finally mastered the sippy cup and now spend time fighting over them.
Here are some pictures from our week!
New TOYS! Jill will chew on anything these days!
LOOK at all those teething bumps and new teeth coming in on Jill. Poor thing! My late bloomer is getting all of her top teeth at once.
Jill practicing the 'Downward Dog' position. She has been doing this a lot lately. She will get right in front of me, do the position, look at me from between her legs and giggle. It is super cute!

I love Mountain Buggy
I have had the hardest time getting a stroller. I searched and researched all sorts of strollers and finally decided that I would get a Baby Jogger City Mini Double. So I ordered one on 4/29. Delivery was scheduled for 2-3 weeks. I salivated and waited while pushing and struggling with my double snap and go and infant seats. The girls have wayyyy outgrown them. Three weeks went by and I was on the phone with the internet store I bought it from. Apparently Baby Jogger did not realize how popular the City Mini Double was going to be and had COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. So, they had to go manufacture some more. Just great, huh?! I spent another week and a half waiting. Still nothing. I called again and they said that it may be up to 4 more weeks. Oh no, no, no! So, I decided to cancel my order and choose another stroller. I finally ordered a Mountain Buggy Urban Double. I have to say that I am in love. I can push it with one hand and it fits easily through standard doors. The girls seem to like it also. They especially like chewing on the safety harness!

Kansas Weather
Kansas is known for a few things and tornados is just one of them. This week has been filled with nasty weather. Fortunately, there were no tornados in our area, but we have seen our fair share of hail. In fact, our roof has to be replaced because of the hail/wind damage. Here are some pics from a storm that blew through Tuesday night.
