And so it begins....

Both of the girls have learned to crawl. Once we returned to KS from TX both of them began to try all sorts of new things. Perhaps it was the 12 hours in the car that gave them the energy to explore and stretch their legs out?!

Jill is figuring out that the "knee crawl" is much faster than the "army belly crawl". Kate finally coordinated her hands and knees and crawls forward. She was in reverse for such a long time. They are both pulling up on furniture and sitting on their knees. Every time they get to their knees they proudly glance around the room as if to say, "I DID IT!"

The downside to this activity is when they can't figure out how to get back down from their knees. Case in point ~ nap time. We have been struggling with our long afternoon nap. It seems that now since the bumper pads are gone, the girls like to sit on their knees while holding on to the crib and talk to each other. This was cute the first day. Yeah, just the first day. Then Kate couldn't figure out how to get back down from her knees without falling backwards, which was scary. So she would sit there and scream...and scream...and scream. Nice. Luckily this stage didn't last too long and she has already figured out how to lay back down. Unlucky for me, since the bumpers are gone, they like to toss their pacifiers out of the crib and watch me scramble around on the floor for them. Apparently this is great fun and they give a few chuckles and giggles. Yeah, I thought that was cute the first time also. Now, not so much.

Here are some pictures of the girls in action and getting into everything!
