Dallas Trip
The girls and I just spent a week down in Texas visiting family. We had a wonderful time. Surprisingly, both of the girls were really good on the car ride to Dallas. I was concerned about how they would handle being in the car and off their schedule. I packed plenty of fun children's cd's. I figured I would use the dvd player as the last resort, but luckily it never came to that. Their time limit is about 7 hours in the car before they 'lose it'. And by 'lose it' I mean screaming, hollaring, crying, you name it. Luckily, they started this as soon as we got close to Aunt Shelly's house so my nerves weren't too shot. :) We got to spend some time with Eli, Aunt Shelly, Grammy, and Boots. The girls were fully entertained with Eli and Mr. Kitty. Both of them have gotten over their 'STRANGER DANGER' and immediately climbed into Shelly's lap. Perhaps they were just sick of me?! We always have a great time in Dallas hanging out with Shelly, gossiping, and drinking wine, ok, milk for the kiddos, wine for us after they go to bed. On our way back to KC, we stopped overnight again in Dallas. Unfortunately, Jill was sick and had become Senorita Fussy McFuss Pants. She was snotty, and had a fever, and let everyone know just how pathetic and bad she felt. She went to bed early while Kate and Grammy played. Kate was in rare form that night. She would run around giggling while playing peek a boo with Grammy. She had a wonderful time and promptly passed out at 7pm. That gave us adults some time to have a glass of wine, relax, and chat before bedtime. Here are some pictures from the time we spent in Dallas.
