Grandpa John comes to visit

Jason's father John came to Kansas after Christmas to visit the girls.  As usual, they had lots of fun climbing in and out of his lap.  They even enjoyed using him as a stepping stool.  All of us gathered the kiddos and headed to Gymboree to play on New Years eve.  I meant to take some photos but the place was packed since it was 'free play' week.  All ages were welcome so we had to keep a close eye on the girls to make sure they weren't trampled by the older kids.  Jason, John, and I spent New Years eve drinking wine and watching season 2 of Dexter.  Dexter became such an addiction that we finished out the season before John returned to Texas.  We spent New Years day at the house cooking, chatting, and playing with the girls.  On Friday Jason and John were able to sneak off to the casinos and gamble a little.  Unfortunately John had to head back to Texas on Saturday morning.  :(  

We are all sad to see John go back to Texas.  Especially the dogs since John has 'sucker' on his forehead.  Murphy found it very easy to talk John into giving him doggie treats.  All it would take was a little eye contact, a tilt of the head and some whining to convince John to get him a treat.

I am pretty sure John will hurt me when he finds out I put this picture of him on the blog.  But I find that this picture represents John's fantastic humor and generally happy demeanor.  :)

John becomes the new jungle gym.
